A client brought us a wooden case made by their grandfather, along with photographs, fishing reels, lures, and hand-tied flies that had been carefully saved over the years.
Our framer, Kim Peculis, thoughtfully arranged these treasures inside the box, creating a piece that feels both intimate and alive. Each item carries its own story, but together they form a portrait of time spent outdoors, patience and joy by the water’s edge, and bonds shared across generations.
At Bonfoey Gallery, we’re often trusted with meaningful projects, but few carry the emotional weight and historical depth of Tom Overmyer’s framing request.
Tom came to us with two companion paintings by his grandfather, David H. Overmyer, a Topeka artist whose work appeared on the covers of Household Magazine in 1932 and 1933. One of the paintings, rescued from a studio fire in the 1950s, lost its original frame. The companion painting, still in its original 1920's frame, needed a historically accurate match.
Two Alfred Gabali paintings recently underwent conservation treatment and custom framing, revealing a renewed sense of color, clarity, and presence.
“We were initially unsure about moving forward with both the cleaning and framing… We are now anything but apprehensive. The paintings are simply fantastic in every aspect.”
“We want to thank you and your team for the exceptional workmanship and attention to detail… We are so pleased and will truly enjoy these paintings for many years.”

Dr. Ghindia has been a cherished client of the Bonfoey Gallery, for at least ten to fifteen years, cultivating a relationship rooted in art, trust, and shared values. What started with a simple installation became a trusted relationship. Over time, he’s used nearly every service we offer: from framing to art purchases, to installing, deinstalling, storing, and even shipping artwork.
“You guys are like a good friend, you’ve brought so much joy to my life. It’s the integrity, the commitment to the community and the city. Organizations like yours make the city come alive. You elevate Cleveland because you bring cultural quality to it. You represent the city not just by being located here, but by showcasing artists from Northeast Ohio and the region.” - Dr. Ghindia
