YOU ARE HERE is a bold statement: it suggests that you have made it somewhere. The statement "you are here" is mostly used to inform you of where you're at relative to a particular space at that moment. I consider "you are here" to be confrontational because the statement assumes that you are not aware of the space you currently occupy. "Yes, I'm Here Right now" is a curated exhibition that investigates our current placement in society in how the influence of current culture is reflected in the creation process. "Yes, I'm Here Right Now" shows a compilation of different styles and mediums. All the work show in "Yes, I'm Here Right Now" grapples with what it means to be here, at this very moment.

- Darius Steward, curator

CAN Triennial: “You Are Here” is a multi-venue exhibition organized in collaboration with an intergenerational, diverse team of curators from a range of institutional affiliations. The curatorial team will assemble more than a dozen exhibitions that will, at times, examine place and location, and at other times skewer notions of culture and politics, and will also map to discussions around presence and loss. Together, these exhibitions will give us an experiential journey through the literal geography of our city, and the ever-complicated situational understandings of place, context, identity, and–ultimately action.
