My paintings begin with a modern perspective rooted in artisan tradition. I am drawn to bold compositions and heavily stylized forms, creating contemporary work that is informed by both modern decorative art and the optimism of mid-century design. Working from my nineteen-fifties home - surrounded by handmade quilts, pottery, and well-worn mid-century furnishings - I find that vintage decor naturally weaves its way into my visual language.

As a gay artist who built community through chosen family, I approach the home as both sanctuary and a source of resilience. Themes of home, community, and belonging are central to my practice. I believe design has the power to shape emotional experience. Through my work, I aim to create images that embody warmth, optimism, and quiet stability - works that affirm the possibility of constructing beauty and safety even amid the challenges of modern life.
