Artist Statement My background as a designer and my passion for the natural world are the most powerful influences in my work. Designing for George Lucas Productions, Walt Disney World, and Bayer Diagnostics allowed me to learn to view subject matter in an atypical way. Composition became as critical to me as the subject itself. The design skill set in addition to fine art training are what make my paintings unique.
Much of my inspiration comes from observing natures. A favorite element is water. I was a competitive swimmer and sailor; always in the water. Some of my most successful series celebrate waters mastery of abstraction; its ability to filter reality into a fluid fragmented form.
