Art-Focused: Alex Jesko and Daniel Pailes-Friedman

31 July 2023

The Bonfoey Gallery is pleased to present our next featured artists in our Art-Focused series, Alex Jesko and Daniel Pailes-Friedman. Both of these painters use simple elements such as shape and color and interpret them in diverse ways, showing their expertise with abstraction.

Alex Jesko is a Youngstown native who takes his passion for music and puts it onto the canvas. Alex's interest lies in "the interpretation of the visual possessing audio qualities" - he visualizes the relationship between sound and light through geometric abstraction. Alex earned his BFA in painting from Kent State University and earned his MFA in painting with a double minor in art history and sculpture from the University of Iowa.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Daniel Pailes-Friedman  refers to painting as a "physical, mental, and spiritual process",  Daniel's paintings possess both a spontaneous, yet deliberate feel  - through his use of color and negative space, Daniel creates both depth and movement in his work. Daniel studied painting and drawing at the Pratt Institute and later on the Art Students League.

Alex Jesko and Daniel Pailes-Friedman's work will be up in the gallery  until July 31st. Call 216-621-0178 or email gallery@bonfoey for further information.
